One Week Wonder
An interesting project was completed at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh last summer. More than 2,500 AirVenture attendees took part in building a Zenith CH 750 Cruzer during the seven days of the show. The project was dubbed the One Week Wonder.
I stopped by the area where the Zenith was being built several times over the week to see the progress. It was nice to see the enthusiasm of everyone who took part, especially by the young kids. They took part in a unique project and were able to say “I helped build that plane!” I’m sure it was an experience most of them will never forget.
The goal of the One Week Wonder last year was to show everyone who walked the grounds of EAA AirVenture how easy and affordable building your own aircraft can be.
The One Week Wonder has since been on a mission of traveling to different venues in order to spread the message of homebuilding. Next week, the One Week Wonder will be back in Oshkosh, WI for EAA AirVenture 2015. Some of the volunteers who helped guide the project will be there as well. I’m sure it will be a fun reunion!
