PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To provide effective calibration/maintenance support in a cost effective and timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out agreed planned calibration/maintenance programme as requested.
  • Respond promptly to internal requests for calibration/maintenance support and take appropriate action to resolve.
  • Metrology-provide an effective calibration/maintenance support system for instruments, tooling and test equipment.
  • Systems Calibration- provide a service for calibration appertaining to test beds, accessory test rigs and associated items.
  • Ensure that when carrying out any task that “the job is safe to start” e.g. switching off, isolations, lock out/tag out, relevant permits are in place. If in doubt contact your relevant Team Leader/Co-ordinator.
  • Obtain relevant perceived electrical fault information from the local area Team Leader/Operator and liaise with Facilities Team Leader for competent external contractor support.
  • Provide advice and support to Programme teams on calibration/maintenance issues.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor workload of external contractors whilst on site.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement processes, in working practices and team efficiency.
  • Maintain an auditable records system and produce measures as required.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and regulations
  • Adhere to the Company Information and Protection Policy (IPP)
  • Comply with statutory requirements and regulations, Company requirements and procedures
  • Carry out any other reasonable request within current competence level
  • Assist in the training of team members ensuring best practice standards are maintained
  • Self-development will be the responsibility of the post-holder. Training and development will be identified and opportunities sought to increase personal effectiveness.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external departments
  • As part of our continuing commitment to delight our customers, we provide Out of Hours Emergency Cover. You may be required to help provide this service by participating in an Out of Hours Rota.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Diploma in Metrology and Calibration (desirable)
  • Eye for detail
  • Thorough Methodical Approach
