The Chief Inspector has the final authority in releasing to service Airframes, Engines, Propellers, Appliances, and Component Parts. He/she is responsible for directing, planning, and layout out the details of inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation regulations, manufacturerrsquo;s specifications, and recommendations. He/she is responsible for maintaining currency of the Repair Station Manual by assuring that revisions provided by the Quality Control Manager are incorporated and distributed to all manuals for the repair station.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Assist, supervise, and direct personnel assigned to the Inspection Department.
  • Ascertain all inspections are properly performed on completed work. Ensure proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to releasing the product to service.
  • Maintain and keep current a file of pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, Specifications, Type Certificate Data Sheets, and Airworthiness Directives.
  • Determine all technical data for articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are obtained and kept current with the latest revisions being given to the appropriate department inspector. This data will include Manufacturerrsquo;s Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Parts Specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data and other technical data for use by the repair station. Ensure all Military Specifications used in the overhaul and repair of components have been evaluated and approved by the FAA.
  • Ensure periodic checks are made on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment used by the repair station and mechanics who have their own precision equipment. Maintain a current record of inspections and tests.
  • Maintain files of completed work orders and inspection forms.
  • Ensure proper execution of FAA Form 337.
  • Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or articles released by the repair station.
  • Submit reports of defects of non-airworthy condition in accordance with FAR 145.63 (Ref 2-2-4).
  • Accomplish the final inspection of all incoming material; new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles repaired outside the repair station by contract.
Requirements: 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years of work experience as a certified A P maintenance technician. Must possess a current A P certification.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with the executives and directors of the company as well as other management, employees, vendors, and associate companies is a must.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Must possess the ability to use software tools available to work efficiently and effectively, keep schedules organized for use by all involved.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient skills in office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics and accounting as it pertains to requirements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to recognize problems to resolve and eliminate threats to the company.
