20 Students Earn Karen K. Duncan Scholarship

Duncan Aviation supports its local communities once again by awarding 20 students the Karen K. Duncan Scholarship. The company awards the children of its team members each year; each scholarship winner receives up to $4,000 for his or her college education—$1,000 a semester for up to two years.

An independent committee reviewed applicants’ essays and assigned point values to them. Students also earned points for academic achievement, leadership, citizenship, career goals and extracurricular activities.

The following students from local communities will receive scholarships that together could total up to $80,000:

Sydney Brown, daughter of Tonya and Jeff Brown

Jacob Dilly, son of John and Kim Dilly

Alexis Gress, daughter of Tammy and John Gress

Caroline Harms, daughter of Anna and Daniel Harms

Tyler Hestermann, son of Stephanie and Richard Hestermann

Taylor Homes, daughter of Kim and Brian Homes

Madison Hurd, daughter of Catrece and Ken Hurd

Jordan Keller, daughter of Penny Nichols Keller and Kirk Keller

Mykenzie Kemp, daughter of Dawn and Robert Kemp

Jacob Kitchen, son of Dottie and Jim Kitchen

April Marie Kruse, daughter of Michelle and Dennis Kruse

Liam Kruse, son of Michelle and Dennis Kruse

Andy Miesbach, son of Mary and Kevin Miesbach

Evan Packer, son of Tammy and Robert Packer

Lydia Swager, daughter of Amy and Luke Swager

Kenneth Thomason, son of Kimberly and Raymond Thomason

Mikayla Weigle, daughter of Elizabeth Schlamann and Alan Weigle

Brock Williams, son of Amanda and Louis Williams

The Karen K. Duncan Scholarship program was started in 1999 and is open to dependents of full-time Duncan Aviation team members. Up to 20 scholarships are awarded annually and can be used for tuition, fees, room, board or books.

Since its inception, more than 220 scholarships totaling more than $1,400,000 have been awarded through the Karen K. Duncan Scholarship program.
