West Star Aviation’s Mike Sichmeller Nominated for AEA Member of the Year Award

West Star Aviation announces that Mike Sichmeller, Avionics Technical Sales manager of East Alton, IL (ALN), has been nominated by a committee of industry peers for the AEA Member of the Year Award. 

The nominees for the AEA Member of the Year are individuals from a regular member company and an approved maintenance organization who are being recognized for their service and participation in the general-aviation industry and in the association. AEA has selected five nominees this year, and the winner will be announced at its annual convention in April. The award has been granted every year since 1964. 

Sichmeller has over 40 years of aviation experience with a career that started in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics tech. He continued into corporate and civil aviation with positions including avionics technician, systems engineer, project manager, production manager, service center planner/contract manager, sales engineer and sales manager. He has a bachelor of science degree in professional aeronautics and a master of science in aeronautical science degree from Embry-Riddle. He has been with West Star for two-and-a-half years.
