BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defense customers including E-7 AEW C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.The E-7 Wedgetail is the worlds most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously while also providing situational awareness and directing other assets such as fighter jets and warships.The E7 Wedgetail is currently undergoing modification in Birmingham. Each of the 3 aircraft will require a period of Flight Testing prior to entering service based in Lossiemouth, Scotland.As part of BDUKs continued growth, we are now looking for skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to form the E7 Aircraft Maintenance Mobilisation Team. The Flight Test programme is expected to be based in RAF Lossiemouth.This position is for a technician who will carry out aircraft maintenance tasks as required. Take part in the setup of the Lossiemouth site in readiness to host the E-7 flight test programme. The technician should, expect significant time working between Birmingham and Lossiemouth as well as other potential sites for test activity in support of the E-7 program.  The role will demand flexibility to travel to support emergent requirements, a proactive attitude to problem-solving and a high degree of autonomy in managing personal development to ensure readiness to maintain the E7.Responsibility to:

  • Deliver Aircraft maintenance under Boeing’s own MAA MRP part 145
  • Assemble, disassemble and/or modify systems by changing removing replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
  • Configure aerospace vehicles and test equipment
  • Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems to isolate faults and repair faulty components within guidelines published in authorized maintenance documents
  • Complete required training and work experience to ensure authorisations in place to support E7 flight testing and entry into service

Qualifications/Experience:Required

  • A recognised apprenticeship scheme or equivalent training programme
  • Recent aircraft maintenance experience
  • Line or Base maintenance experience
  • Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite

Desirable

  • P8 maintenance experience will be preferred due to simplified cross-training opportunities
  • 12 months of experience working on a military platform desirable
  • Experience on fixed wing narrow body aircraft (737 Commercial or 737 Military Commercial Derivative desirable)
