EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is Almost Here!
It's my favorite time of the year — summer! I enjoy the warm weather and long days. I like the smells of grills fired up and freshly-cut lawns. And during the last week of July each year, my favorite activity is right here in Wisconsin — EAA AirVenture!
July 26 - August 1 will mark my 20th visit to the annual event in Oshkosh, WI. This 20th trip will be extra special since last year's event was canceled. Although my main purpose in attending is to look for the latest aviation products and services and to network with readers and advertisers, I make sure to spend some walking around the grounds and absorbing all the sights and sounds. There are plenty of aircraft on display — from modern day military aircraft to corporate jets, home built airplanes, warbirds and everything in-between!
If you have never experienced EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, I would highly encourage you to add it to your bucket list. There is something for everyone at AirVenture.

Another reason I enjoy summer because it marks the anniversary of the launch of D.O.M. magazine. 13 years ago, we launched D.O.M. magazine with our July/August 2008 issue that was distributed at EAA AirVenture.
What a fun 13 years it has been! We couldn’t have done it without our contributing writers, advertisers and especially YOU — our readers. Never forget that D.O.M. is YOUR magazine. If there are ever any topics you would like to see covered in the magazine, please reach out to us! If you know of any DOMs or maintenance managers who you think would be worthy of a profile story, let us know as well!
In closing, remember that our August issue of D.O.M. magazine is a digital-only bonus issue. You won’t be receiving a copy in the mail, but can view the issue on your computer, tablet or smart phone. (I personally prefer the computer, but perhaps that’s just because of my aging eyes!) Look for the issue on DOMmagazine.com in August!
