Elliott Aviation Signs Industry-Leading 15th Garmin G5000 Installation for Citation Excel/XLS

Elliott Aviation, a Garmin retrofitter in the aviation industry, announces its 15th signed preorder for the Citation Excel/XLS Garmin G5000, leading the industry in sales.

As the first company to install a Garmin G5000 retrofit, it has now installed over 15 Garmin G5000 systems in Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP aircraft. It has also installed over 325 Garmin G1000 systems in King Airs, more than all other dealers in the world combined.

The Garmin G5000 Citation Excel and XLS retrofit completely replaces all existing Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics, including the flight director system and autopilot. The G5000 retrofit greatly reduces cost of avionics ownership. It offers ADS-B Out; WAAS/LPV; weight savings; dual-channel digital flight control system; and an integrated engine indication and crew-alerting system (EICAS). The Garmin G5000 also includes many options including synthetic vision, turbulence detection, SurfaceWatch™, underspeed protection and Chartview™. Additional options like CPDLC Link 2000 services, FANS 1/A, and lighting and hail prediction will be added as future options.

“We are looking forward to installing the Garmin G5000 in Citation Excel and XLS airframes,” says Conrad Theisen, director of Avionics Sales for Elliott Aviation. “By completely removing and replacing the outdated avionics in this airplane, this program combines an excellent airframe with the latest in avionics technology.”

The Citation Excel and XLS Garmin G5000 program is currently undergoing certification, with STC expected in 2019. Find out more about the G5000 program at http://www.elliottaviation.com/avionics/garmin-g5000-retrofits.
