Job Title: Ground Support Equipment MechanicLocation: Reno, NVEmployment Type: Full-TimeShift: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)Compensation: $27–$30/hour, based on experience and qualificationsPosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of aircraft ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment used in airport operations.Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on various types of aircraft ground support equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, air conditioning units, and power carts
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and service repairs on both customer-owned and company-owned equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel, gasoline, and liquid propane (LP) engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, ignition, and mechanical wear
  • Analyze and resolve faults in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic start systems using technical schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Utilize specialized diagnostic software to evaluate and repair Powertrain Management Systems and other onboard control modules
  • Accurately complete vehicle repair orders, maintenance logs, and service documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate equipment safety concerns, operational issues, and customer service requests to management in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, including support for special projects and emergency repairs

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing ground support equipment and diesel engine systems
  • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems and diagnostic software tools

Additional Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) policies required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an airport-issued ID badge in accordance with airport security requirements
  • ASE certification preferred but not required

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
