Ground Support Mechanic Overview: Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Ground Support Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of company vehicles and ground equipment; assisting in the procurement of tooling equipment and vehicles and ordering and stocking of parts and consumables used for repairs to support ground operations. Essential roles and responsibilities of The Ground Support Mechanic:

  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on Ground Support Equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair vehicles and ground equipment
  • Complete and process applicable paperwork for maintenance repairs
  • Assist with coordinating repairs with outside vendors
  • Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in good working condition
  • Identify and report problems that could impact daily GSE ground operations
  • Assist with training of newly hired individuals
  • Accomplish housekeeping and repair of GSE ground) shop, as required
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
  • Other Duties as assigned

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt Working Location: This position is open in Minneapolis, MN The qualifications we are looking for in a Ground Support Mechanic include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have own tools
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving skills
  • Acceptable driving record required
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision individually or as a team

    Preferred requirements:

    • Experience in repair of ground support equipment including super tugs, catering trucks, maintenance trucks, heat carts, and aircraft generators.
