Duties Responsibilities:
The A P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. The mechanic will be accountable for completing all work in accordance with our Company procedures and requirements, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must have strong interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand technical data such as maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
  • Must have knowledge of federal regulations relating to Title 14 parts 43 and 91.
  • Assure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Must be able to be flexible and work all shifts on an as needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION

  • Airframe and Powerplant license required at the time of hire. Must be able to obtain Inspection Authorization within three months of hire.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three recent and consecutive years of GA experience as a certificated A P.
  • Experience on Piper aircraft is preferred.
  • G1000 experience is a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Can work independently with the ability to make airworthiness decisions.
  • Ability to manage workflow and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on company aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA regulations.
  • Will be required to make aircraft logbook entries and release aircraft for return to service.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and able to learn Talon RMS computer maintenance program.

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED

  • General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, personal computer, etc.
  • Vehicle operation such as company van, truck, golf cart, aircraft etc. as required.
  • Will require the use of various pieces of shop equipment and tools.
  • Exposure to solvents, aviation gasoline, etc.

PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work in various environments inside and outside of the facility.
  • Extensive exposure to aircraft, simulators, outside conditions, and equipment.
  • Some medium lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, bending, and stooping.

OTHERS

  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, proactive in maintaining productivity.
  • Flexible/adaptable to a fast-changing pace and instructions according to flight school priorities.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
