Jet Aviation Extends Line Maintenance Services to FBO in Zurich

Jet Aviation announces it is offering a line-maintenance service through its new hangar facility in Zurich. The facility is authorized to perform line maintenance on a range of business aircraft, including Gulfstream series, with immediate effect.

Situated at Jet Aviation’s Zurich North FBO, the facility will initially receive approval under an extension of the company’s Basel site authorizations prior to undergoing an audit for Line Maintenance Repair Station approval by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA).

Jet Aviation expanded its Zurich operation in June 2021 via the acquisition of the former ExecuJet Zurich FBO facilities. The acquisition added a multifunctional, state-of-the-art terminal for passengers and crews; a 2,500-square-meter hangar adjacent to the terminal; a second near-5,000-square-meter arched hangar; and two approximately 5,000-square-meter private ramps to the company’s existing Zurich footprint.

The Zurich line-maintenance station supports services for a range of business aircraft, including the Gulfstream series. Jet Aviation has appointed AOG engineer Michael Luethi to manage the station with the support of its global AOG team as required.

“We are delighted to extend our European MRO network to Zurich,” says Cyril Martiniere, Jet Aviation’s VP MRO Services Europe and GM Basel. “We saw an opportunity to better meet the needs of our clients through the strength of our MRO network, and this facility is our way of delivering the highest benefit to business-aviation owners and operators in the region.”

Stefan Verkaik, the company’s director of Aftermarket Services and AOG, says, “Line maintenance is a fantastic complement to our base maintenance and AOG service offering in Europe. We want to ensure that our customers’ experience is effortless. Establishing a line-maintenance base in Zurich eases those situations when it is more difficult to move an aircraft or mechanics. Zurich is a key hub for our customers, and, in combination with our large footprint at the airport, it’s the perfect location to further support their maintenance needs. We are now able to provide a turn-key solution, between FBO services, handling, fueling, line maintenance, troubleshooting, aircraft servicing and pre-flight checks, all in one location.”

Jet Aviation offers base maintenance in Basel, Geneva, Vienna, Dubai and Singapore, as well as AOG services worldwide.

Jet Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) with some 4,000 employees and 50 locations worldwide. Jet Aviation’s offerings include aircraft management, aircraft sales, charter, completions, defence, FBO, maintenance and staffing.
