CBA - Avionics Technician (F-18) ndash; CBA Armstrong, Edwards AFB, CA Job Description:Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.

The employee shall obtain and maintain designation as, but not limited to Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Support Equipment licenses, and certifications as deemed necessary by the COR.

  • 2 years experience in any industry utilizing basic mechanical skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience as a utility mechanic
  • Basic understanding of FAA regulations pertaining to CFR Part 145 repair station operations.

​Performs duties as an Aircraft power train technician; performs unit level maintenance on aircraft power train and rotor systems. In addition, disassembles friction dampers and hanger assemblies. Repairs and services power train and rotor components. Applies corrosion preventative procedures. Cleans, preserves, and stores assigned components.

​Inspects, troubleshoots and performs maintenance on aircraft electrical, avionics, armament, fire control, radar, visionics, ASE systems and components associated with the MD530 aircraft using the current applicable technical manuals, ADs, SBs, CBs SLs or any specific directives.

Functions as the 1st Battalion UH-60M Mechanic Lead under the direction of Battalion Production Control Supervisor. Responsible for prioritizing, tracking, and scheduling UH60M maintenance requirements. Reports any problems that affect completion timeline to Production Control (PC).

​Functions as the Aviation Maintenance Quality Control/Quality Assurance, technical inspector under the direction of the Quality Control (QC) Supervisor. Technical Inspector /Inspector Authorization duties include sign-off of all red ‘X’ and circle red ‘X’ conditions pertaining to the aircraft systems, and aircraft components.

​Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, systems troubleshooting, removal, reinstallation, and replacement of sub-assemblies IAW current applicable maintenance manuals. Removal and installation of aircraft system and subsystem components including but not limited to engines, transmissions, drive train components, flight control components, rotor system components and landing gear.
