The Sheetmetal Technician II works under general supervision to safely layout, fabricate, and install parts, equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.

The A P Technician repairs, troubleshoots, inspects and performs maintenance on Customer aircraft. Performs and documents all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

The primary duties of this position are to troubleshoot inspect test adjust and repair and/or modifying avionics systems sub-systems and equipment installed on aircraft in accordance to applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and predetermined company processes and procedures.

Grinder Machinist:

  • Oversee and troubleshoot critical weldments ensuring best practices for weld fit-up, cleanliness requirements and weld parameters are followed.
  • Develop weld parameters and document best practices to support production.
  • Perform root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware.
  • Perform statistical process analysis of welding processes.
  • Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences
  • Lays out and assembles units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
  • Adjusts and calibrates systems as required.
  • Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements using predetermined methods and in some cases may determine methods and sequences.
  • Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences
  • Lays out and assembles units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
  • Adjusts and calibrates systems as required.
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on cable assemblies which includes installing cables, connectors and circuit card assemblies.
  • Ability to work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools.
  • Layout, weld, braze or diffusion bond assemblies for assembly, fitting and straightening operations.
  • Build up assemblies composed of pre-fabricated parts which must be finish-formed, trimmed, fitted and located by hand to exacting tolerances.
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, panels, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
