Duration 1 yearDescription Chipton-Ross is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 1 for an opportunity in Palmdale, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES:Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. We are looking for highly motivated individuals that are willing to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment covering multiple programs within Palmdale, CA. Candidate will be required to use highly sophisticated computer aided metrology equipment that will require learning multiple software applications. The Candidate must provide and project an atmosphere focused on team building and collaboration across multiple individuals and across multiple shifts.Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required. Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs. Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies. Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details. Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of experience in the manufacturing and production environment.Experience with hand and power tools.Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.).Ability to work off of high ladders and portable platforms, heavy lifting up to 25lbs, and standing for long periods of time. EDUCATION:High School Diploma/GED is required.School must be accredited. HOURS:4/10 workweek. Ability to work 1st shift (5 am - 3:30 pm) OR 2nd shift (4:12 pm - 2:42 am) and any work schedule, including overtime as necessary. Make sure candidate is aware of this. Both must clear prior to start date.
