SUMMARY Supervise and lead engineers and technicians who design aircraft components and modification through reverse engineering, manufacturer drawings, and customer specifications using a combination of FAA and DoD engineering standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensure Areas of Responsibility meet goals and objectives by providing systems, resources, and training as needed.- Direct and coordinate production, operations, quality assurance, and testing of aircraft modification projects- Discuss and lay out project specifications.- Ensure that appropriate resources are provided to enable engineering support and training support be provided for all projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.- Provides Engineering project support and technical leadership to engineering staff.- Make detailed plans to accomplish goals.- Review, approve, or modify product designs.- Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts.- Performs such individual assignments as the Director of Engineering may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.- Approve expenditures and develop cost estimates.- Draft proposals and reports for clients.- Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of organization goals and objectives, measuring the work performed within the department, and ensures adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.- Interface with all departments to ensure a cooperative effort.- Develop overall concepts for a new product.- Check technical accuracy of work.- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.- Position requires a U.S. security clearance.- Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATIONRequired: - BA/BS degree from a four-year college or university in a related field and/or combination of education and related experience.Preferred: - Masters Degree in Business Administration, Management, or Engineering. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCERequired: - 10-12 years in engineering.- Minimum of five (5) years in engineering management.- Must possess a current US passport or the ability to obtain one before assignment.Preferred: - Experience in managing large aircraft modification projects- Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.
