How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview key responsibilities)The Ground Maintenance Technician – Motorized position must utilize appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment, and specialized parts of equipment. Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):• Inspects, services, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and overhauls all ground support equipment and components including the following: truck chassis, body and drive-train components on a variety of equipment.• Responsible for electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, painting, body work, and other technical work as required on all Ground Support Equipment. • Practices safety-conscious and environmentally-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Requirements: 

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have successfully completed a two year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have a minimum three years of documented Ground Support Equipment experience. • Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals and electrical and hydraulic schematics; should have a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems. • Must be authorized to work in the US.• Must have a valid driver's license. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, both indoors and outdoors, include traveling, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays. • Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check (all information provided will be verified). Any discrepancy will result in immediate disqualification; must also successfully pass a drug and hearing test (audiogram) in addition to successfully passing a background check. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and provide outstanding customer service. • Must be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with no assistance. • Must have the ability to work without close supervisory direction and to complete the job without assignment of tasks. • Must meet the physical requirements which include the ability to lift at least 70 pounds. • Must be able to work in a team environment and coordinate repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors. • Must be able to respond to customers' needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time sensitive situations. • Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks. • (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is preferred.
