Job Description:
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is looking for highly qualified avionics technicians for a fleet of modern law enforcement aircraft. You'll be working with the latest in modern GPS, infrared cameras and searchlights as well as a host of other navigation systems, instruments, and law enforcement equipment.
F-16 Production Flightline APG performs a variety of mechanical duties involving diagnosis of malfunctions and required maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Testing and troubleshooting post flight issues.
Inspects components, housings, and finished assemblies of electromechanical products for conformance to established work instruction, industry standards, drawings, etc., using low / high power microscopes, test equipment, and hand-held inspection tools. Work with engineering to report and detail non-conformances.
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft modification in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations.
Shift:
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies.
Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft modification in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations. Heavy structural repair on F-16 Fighter Aircraft, must have MOD, MMRO, or heavy structural experience.
SMT Soldering to IPC and/or J-STD standards. Soldering and Printed Circuit Board assembly working in an Electro Static Discharge (ESD) environment. Use hand tools to build circuit card assemblies. Work using a Microscope utilizing electronic work instructions.
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies.
SHIFT:4/10-2nd Shift.Shift hours are 3:30 PM EST-2:00 AM EST Monday-Thursday with OT on weekends.
FULL TIME/SECOND SHIFTWORK HOURS: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
