About Us:Aspire Aviation is a dynamic and rapidly growing flight school at the forefront of aviation training on Long Island. Based at the historic Republic Airport (KFRG), we are building the region's premier flight training center through a commitment to safety, a modern fleet, and instructional excellence.
We specialize in guiding aspiring aviators through our comprehensive Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot ASEL programs. As we continue to expand our operations and pursue Part 141 certification, our core mission remains the same: to train the next generation of safe, proficient, and professional pilots.
The Opportunity:We are making a major investment to bring our maintenance in-house and are seeking a founding Lead A P Mechanic to build and run this new department. • Expertly diagnose and repair unscheduled airframe and powerplant squawks with speed and precision.
  • Maintain meticulous, compliant, and professional logbook entries.
  • Manage parts inventory, sourcing, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with ownership and the Chief Pilot to maximize fleet availability and ensure uncompromising safety.
  • Establish and uphold the highest standards of shop organization, safety, and professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Valid FAA Airframe Powerplant (A P) Certificate is required.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in General Aviation maintenance.
  • Verifiable, expert-level experience with Cessna 172s (Lycoming/Continental engines).
  • A strong diagnostic and troubleshooting mindset is essential.
  • Must own a professional set of personal hand tools.
