Live Life Forwards

I came across a post on LinkedIn by Aircraft Specialties Inc. (ASI) this morning. It said, "LIFE CAN ONLY BE UNDERSTOOD BACKWARDS, BUT IT MUST BE LIVED FORWARDS."

As I read the post I thought, "What simple and relevant words of wisdom!"

We learn from our past. We all make mistakes. We also have successes. If we are able to learn from those mistakes and successes, our future is more successful.

We can also learn from others. We can learn what to do (and what not to do) if we pay attention to others.

While we can learn from the past, we can't dwell on it. What happened is done. There's nothing we can do to change it. Instead, we should focus our efforts on living our lives forward. What can I do NOW to do better? How can I improve my current situation? What can I learn today to help make me a better employee, spouse, parent or grandparent?

It ties in to the BE HERE NOW mantra! Don't dwell on the cards you have been dealt or the situation you find yourself in. Appreciate what you have and do everything you can do to make it better each day however you can.
