Location: RAAF Base Amberley Category: Business Support Position Type: Permanent Job Reference: BOE/1805656 No File Attached Share This: The opportunity Boeing Defence Australias Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team provide operational and base maintenance support to our Australian Defence Force (ADF) customer across multiple platforms in various locations around Australia. We are seeking a professional and experienced Maintenance Aviation Safety Coordinator (MASC) to join our team located at RAAF Base Amberley. The role involves supporting the E-7A Wedgetail program and, the regulatory and the operational needs of our customer. Our team works hand-in-hand with both internal and external customers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance and modification services for critical ADF capabilities, while fulfilling the requirements of the BDA Product and Service Safety Management System (SMS). Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the BDA SMS
  • Conduct aviation safety investigations in the maintenance environment
  • Participate in Aviation Safety Review Board duties as necessary
  • Support the development and implementation of aviation safety initiatives in support of the SMS
  • Plans, implements and coordinates aviation safety programs and training to ensure compliance with required regulations, procedures and policies
  • Participate in Maintenance Operations Safety Assessments (MOSA)
  • Establishes and maintains active working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct:
    • safety surveys;
    • SMS and air operation audits;
    • customer airworthiness and operating standards reviews;
    • hazard and risk analysis and incident investigation report reviews.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in aviation safety management and/or safety management in an aviation related organisation
  • ICAM Lead Investigator qualifications (Highly Desirable)
  • Lead Auditor Qualifications / Experience
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment (Highly Desirable)
  • Defence Flight Safety Bureau (DFSB/DDAAFS) Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) qualifications (Desirable)
  • Experience with the application of Human Factors to support incident and accident prevention programs
  • Familiarity with Military and/or civilian aviation safety regulations
  • Experience in aviation risk management process and BOWTIE application (Desirable)
  • Experience in ADF SMS systems and processes (Sentinel, AWB, AHRB etc) (Desirable)
  • Previous Aircraft Trade / Engineering experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain a Defence Security clearance with Australian Government Security Vetting Agency
