Maintenance, Helper (1st Shift)
Core Responsibilities:
- Safely assists Maintenance Department with various tasks related to maintaining and repairing equipment within the manufacturing facility.
- Complies with all company safety rules and regulations during course of duties, including: LOTO, hazardous waste management, and hazardous chemical storage.
- Use appropriate PPE, work practices, and other controls to minimize risk exposure to yourself and others on site.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas.
- Assist with preventative maintenance on facility equipment. This may include changing oil, changing belts, servicing filtration systems, changing air filters, checking for damaged components, etc.
- Assist with facility maintenance/repairs as needed, notify supervision of any items that cannot be resolved with a ldquo;See it, Fix itrdquo; approach.
- Sustain project ownership. I.e., determine extent of a repair, use appropriate parts, and complete the repair.
- Assist with maintaining providing work order details to supervision (hours, parts, etc.)
- Interact with all departments and levels of employees on site, from machine operators to the General Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Advocate HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) minded work and processes.
- Self-motivated team member requiring minimal supervisor/guidance.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Safely operate the following equipment: fork truck, crane and scissor lift (training provided).
- Ability to prioritize and utilize time effectively, along with accurately estimating repair/project timelines.
- High attention to detail with the strong ability to multitask.
- Effectively communicate with team members.
- 2+ years of preventative maintenance experience.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- General familiarity with heavy industrial equipment desired.
- Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
