POSITION PURPOSESupports the daily scheduled maintenance plan to include scheduling Minimum Equipment Lists, verifying maintenance blocks. Setting task priorities and dispersing work packages to the maintenance bases.ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned to this position as needed.

  • Schedules all routine maintenance, component changes, aircraft inspections, SIP’s, AD’s, EO’s, EI’s, etc. to be completed on aircraft.
  • Maintains accurate, timely information on components due for time change and aircraft inspection requirements.
  • Monitors airframe inspection compliance and component time changes and advises appropriate departments of changes/inspections due.
  • Monitors and schedules, through communication with Maintenance Control and AOG, Minimum Equipment List and deferred items on each aircraft as well as the availability of parts to clear each item.
  • Creates and balances daily maintenance workload between scheduled routine overnight maintenance facilities.
  • Updates network planning forecast programs.
  • Reviews 2 week maintenance due report and creates plan according to task limitations.
  • Balances a 3 day workload and publishes 1st and 2nd Daily Planning Sheet.
  • Plans 7 day and 30 day reviews.  Runs maintenance due report for parts report and addresses upcoming life limited parts.
  • Monitors and reports on large maintenance items that may have an impact on normal operational circumstances.
  • Communicates with outsource vendors in situations that may require assistance from specialized providers.
  • Works directly with CASS and Maintenance Control in scheduling chronic or repeating maintenance issues.
  • Maintains an accurate log of planning watch items by aircraft.  Coordinates with Maintenance and Production Control for final work accomplishment.
  • Coordinates pre-draw lists with the inventory department when applicable.
  • Reviews and verifies compliance on all maintenance-related tasks within FAA mandated time frames.
  • Review all work packages for tooling and other specialized manpower requirements.
  • Monitors extensions for completion and escalates issues as necessary.
  • Provides daily turnover communication of the fellow team members of critical tasks and items of importance.
  • Provides technical leadership to team and department members.  Leads through example; monitors, influences and trains others, including on the job training.  Provides input to supervisor on performance reviews and helps to identify development needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelors Degree in Aviation or related field
  • 2 years of related experience in airline operations, maintenance, planning, or related field
    • Substitute 4 years of related experience in airline operations, maintenance, planning, or related field for Bachelors Degree
  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift in a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Strong background and knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance systems
  • Understanding of Maintenance Programs and aircraft routing
  • Excellent communication, analytical and computer proficiency skills
  • Must be able to multitask and be detail oriented
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to constant change
  • Ability to efficiently work well in a team environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of aircraft maintenance planning experience
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
