As a Mechanical Design Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will plan, configure, and execute conveyor system projects for large distribution centers. Responsible for the technical quality and effectiveness of the mechanical design. Create and verify conveyor layout, detail, air, load, structural drawings, schematics, and equipment orders as applicable to the project. Plan equipment layout, material flow, and measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of resources and equipment on projects as assigned. Work with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of material handling equipment and solutions as required in support of project needs. Direct and coordinate building of prototypes. Confer with researchers and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems found during execution, preparing design modifications as appropriate. Perform a variety of calculations and prepare detailed multi-view drawings based on engineering data and standard references. In the field, identify field safety concerns; confirm equipment was installed per plans; communicate design issues and improvements with customers, site superintendents, general contractors, and installation crews; adjust conveyor design to accommodate for field interferences. You will report directly to our Mechanical Engineering Supervisor, and youll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule.
