Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Orlando, FLThe successful candidate will demonstrate highly innovative approaches to resolving difficult production and design issues. This candidate will be responsible for the following actions: assisting production development teams, resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, updating drawings and assembly parts lists, and developing new designs/tools.The candidate will also support hardware operations and may provide support to both engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations as well as supplier support.Basic Qualifications:* Pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree. * Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as PTC Creo, 3DX/CATIA, Solidworks, MATLAB, etc. * Demonstrated successful group collaboration and/ or individual project work, ideally in an mechanics or design areas.* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, work with system integration issues, design challenges, etc. demonstrated through hands-on experience. * Ability to obtain a security clearanceDesired Skills:* Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)*Exposure to GD&T, sketching, technical drawing standards, or similar hands-on hardware support.*Basic FEA/CFD exposure (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) or willingness to learn.* Familiarity with MATLAB.* Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g., SAE, ASME competitions).* Basic understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM).* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.* Active clearance.Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: SecretOther Important Information You Should KnowExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
