Job Description Melt Shop Plant Maintenance Technician SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and supporting existing equipment and new equipment installations.Maintenance Technician Primary Responsibilities Work safely and adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures. Stay vigilant with looking for safety issues and elevate safety risks. Follow and respect all lockout procedures, safety rules, OSHA requirements. Use computer system for work management, parts usage, equipment information and training. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Maintain records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and machining. Keep maintenance equipment and area in clean and orderly condition and adhere to all 6-S initiatives and policies. Must be able to work flexible shifts, with appropriate notice. Work overtime or report in when called as required. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Area Manager / Team Lead. Maintenance Technician Education and Experience:Required: o High school graduate, GED or equivalentPreferred: o Trade school completiono 2-year Degree with mechanical and/or electrical focusMaintenance Technician Technical Competencies Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Must have working knowledge of machine repair. Familiarity with common hand tools – how to use them safely and appropriately. General fabrication (welding, torch cutting, layout, fixturing and clamping). Familiarity with automation and robotics. Must complete Maintenance Ramsay Test Skills/Competencies Ability to identify unusual sights and sounds associated with equipment and process. Must be able to read work instructions. Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with other co-workers at all levels of the organization. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to operate a powered industrial truck. Must have the ability to use computers, other electronic devices, and data system(s); (cell phone, tablet, ERP, CMMS, Intranet, etc.) Work in a professional manner.WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is routinely required to perform work in a foundry manufacturing setting, with exposure to high noise level, dust and fumes, and extreme heat and molten metal.ADDITIONAL NOTES The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
