West Star Aviation announces it is performing its first 96-month Embraer Legacy 600 heavy inspection. The 96-month inspection will require the interior to be removed down to fuselage skins and frames, as well as all large exterior fairings, landing gear, flight controls, wing leading edges, and flaps to be removed. The inspection requires West Star to conduct various system functional tests and NDT inspections, as well as interior, corrosion and fuel tank inspections.

Duncan Aviation delivers the company’s first Falcon 7X 1C inspection, with added interior refurbishment and complete paint, two days ahead of schedule. The Falcon 7X was delivered on April 20, and according to Duncan Aviation’s project manager, Doyle Garrett, it has been flying without issue ever since. “The customer expressed what a pleasure it is to work with our team. They said working with their friends at Duncan Aviation makes dealing with any issue not such a big task. The pilot also commented that this was the very best post-maintenance test flight he has ever flown.”

Flying Colours Corp. confirms signing the first customer for INAIRVATION’s pre-engineered retro-fit cabin solution for Bombardier Global aircraft types. Flying Colours, which was named a North American partner by the Austrian-based joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and F/LIST during NBAA 2015, is already working with the European partners on the design engineering for the cabin. The undisclosed client confirmed the order in late April. Work on the project has already begun.

The Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing announces that the North American PBJ Mitchell named Semper Fi returned to flight on May 15, 2016, after a 23-year restoration. Semper Fi is the only original PBJ flying in the world. During World War II the Marine Corps operated surplus B-25 Mitchells with the designation “PB” for patrol bomber. The Marines used the aircraft extensively in the South Pacific to routinely heckle and attack Japanese bases, as well as intercept enemy shipping.
