Duncan Aviation announces that it will no longer charge AOG fees for aircraft parts and exchange orders, including parts shipped directly from Rockwell Collins or Honeywell. “Our customers know they can contact Duncan Aviation Parts and Rotables Sales and receive emergency parts and exchange services 24 hours a day, including after hours and on weekends,” says Chris Gress, Duncan Aviation Parts and Rotables sales manager. “Now they can get these parts without added AOG fees.”

Rockwell Collins will be showcasing commercial aviation’s only certified touchscreen primary flight displays at this year’s Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., July 20-26. Northrop Rice announces a new course to prepare for the A&P certification. Its 8-day A&P Test Prep course starts in September. The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is closely evaluating an announcement, unveiled on June 10 by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), that the agency intends to consider new regulations for carbon emissions from aircraft, based on an a view by agency officials that such emissions may pose a human-health concern because they contribute to global warming.

How much communication is too much? When is communication wrong? I never gave this any thought and just relied on my own sense of what is appropriate, but what I find appropriate might not be what you find appropriate. we seek to find the one right way. we strive for perfect communication. If it were perfect, there would be no problems. If it were perfect, we wouldn’t need instructions to show us the right way. If only …

“Brad was totally overreacting. He heard only one part of my explanation — the part where I said I didn’t tell anyone. he interrupted me before I could finish. he heard me say “no” and didn’t listen to anything after that. He was rambling and I knew he was upset. At every breath he took, I told him to calm down!It didn’t do any good. in fact, it made him angrier.”

If you are looking for a new job or career in 2015, and it has been a while since your last job search, you might be in for some surprises. Not only have the ways of searching for jobs changed, so has the process. It will take you longer to find a new job now as compared to 10 years ago. Some of this change is simply due to the economy. It’s also due to companies’ and recruiters’ dependence upon online job listings.

On April 6, 1924, the Douglas World Cruisers (DWC) Seattle, Chicago, Boston, and New Orleanstook off from Sand Point, Seattle, westbound to their first rendezvous stop at Prince Rupert Sound. The 650-mile flight ended badly for the Seattlewhich stalled on landing at the Sound, crunching its pontoons and damaging wires and struts.

In several of my recent articles, I’ve discussed the requirements for documenting inspections that approved an aircraft for return to service. However, those articles didn’t discuss what happens when the inspection is completed without approving the aircraft for return to service. The latter situation raises questions I would like to discuss with respect to how and where maintenance entries must be made following an annual inspection with resulting discrepancies that are not corrected.
