Mid-Continent Instruments announces that the company has been selected as Kannad’s mid-western factory-authorized repair and factory-authorized warranty repair center for the company’s line of standard and compact 121.5 MHz and 406 MHz digital emergency locator transmitters (ELTs). Technicians at Mid-Continent Instruments have recently completed extensive on-site training from Kannad representatives on the operation, troubleshooting and repair of the company’s aviation ELT products.

Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) announces its factory-owned service centers have, once again, received the coveted Diamond Award from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Maintenance Technician Program. All eight Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) maintenance centers in the U.S., including Little Rock, AR; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA.; Indianapolis, IN; Wichita, KS; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; and Mesa, AZ, met the requirements for the FAA’s highest distinction for excellence in aircraft maintenance training.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently expanded its Product Support organization with the opening of a state-of-the-art In-Flight Support Center. The tools available in the center will help Gulfstream’s Technical Operations department troubleshoot in-flight situations faster. This department runs a call center, with more than 40 technical/system specialists available to support customers.

Northrop Grumman Corporation announces it has received the Diamond Award for Excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the company’s ongoing commitment to maintenance training and safety during a ceremony held at the company’s Rolling Meadows facility on April 14. The Diamond Award for Excellence is the FAA’s most prestigious maintenance training honor. Northrop Grumman’s Rolling Meadows FAA Certified Repair Station began operation in May 2009 and was established to meet regulatory requirements for customers operating aircraft under civil aviation rules.

GlobalParts.aero, the Hawker Beechcraft parts specialist based near Wichita, has received International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 + Aerospace Standard (AS) 9120 certification for the company’s Quality Management System. This distinction follows on the heels of the company’s earlier accreditation to the Aviation Suppliers Association ASA-100 Quality System Standard. GlobalParts.aero thus joins a relative handful of aerospace parts distributors holding both of these coveted recognitions.

Aspen Avionics announces that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has expanded the European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) authorization for Aspen’s Evolution Flight Display to include additional system components previously approved by the FAA. This latest EASA approval expands the ETSO authorization to include the Aspen Evolution 1500, 2000, and 2500 systems. These systems include both Primary Flight Display and Multi-function Flight Display capabilities developed for CS-23 fixed-wing aircraft up to 5700 kg, and for CS-27 VFR helicopter applications.
