Pro Star Aviation Announces FAA Approval of STC for Satellite Communications System

Londonderry, NH - Pro Star Aviation announces receipt of FAA approval of a supplemental type certification (STC) for the installation of a Thrane & Thrane Aviator 200 SwiftBroadband system with Wi-Fi for installation in the Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. model PC-12/45/47/47E aircraft.

The Thrane & Thrane Aviator 200 SwiftBroadband satellite communication system is a compact airborne broadband solution that simultaneously provides ramp to altitude worldwide data and voice.

The Aviator 200 system allows a wide range of in-flight capability,  including: e-mail, Internet browsing, smart phone connectivity, and one AMBE2 voice channel. It provides cabin LAN network for laptops, tablets and smartphones via built-in Wi-Fi or hardware ethernet connections. Multiple users can access this broadband system at speeds up to 200 kilobytes per second. In addition to Wi-Fi Internet access, the AVIATOR 200 provides a single SATCOM telephone connection through a wired cabin handset and a cockpit PTA12-100 Airborne telephone dialer/adapter.
