Avionics AOG Technician
We are West Star Aviation, "WSA", one of the nations leading aviation maintenance providers. Our specialties include scheduled maintenance, on-demand mobile maintenance for unscheduled events, and related services in the areas of structural repairs, composite work, non-destructive testing (NDT) and paint capabilities.The Avionics AOG Technician will report to the Avionics Mobile Satellite Manager. Avionics AOG Technicians will be responsible for completing time-sensitive aircraft repairs in the field. This position requires the technician to display a professional demeanor and project this atmosphere to our customers while working in sometimes unfamiliar locations throughout our region. This challenging position is key to providing our customers with the same exceptional service they are accustomed to wherever their aircraft may be while working with minimal supervision.Must be available to work in the Scottsdale, Arizona area and have a valid A P Certificate with 3-5 years experience. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform Avionics/Electrical AOG maintenance on a variety of corporate and general aviation aircraft.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, tests, removes and replaces Avionics and Electrical systems components using various test equipment and technical documents.
- Performs aircraft avionic systems and components inspections.
- Experienced with performing FAR 91.411, FAR 91.413, RVSM and ADS-B tests and inspections using pitot-static and ATC transponder test equipment.
- Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Effectively communicate with Customers (customer liaison), WSA management and control center personnel concerning any job-related issues.
- Demonstrate professionalism and deliver satisfaction to the internal/external customer.
- Perform all maintenance IAW FAA approved technical data and the WSA certified repair station manual.
Skills and Qualifications:The successful candidate for this position will hold a valid A P certificate and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing maintenance on one of the following aircraft:
- Embraer Phenom 100 300
- Embraer Legacy/Prator
- Hawker 800/900
- Cessna Citation Series
- Dassault Falcon
- Bombardier Challenger 350/650
- Bombardier Global 5000/6000
- King Air
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be willing to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) using fall protection safety gear
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs
- Ability to lift 70 lbs.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and ground equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces
Non-Physical Requirements:
- Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs
- Good mechanical/electrical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively
- Be a problem solver by effectively reading and interpreting maintenance, wiring and illustrated parts manuals
- Ability to communicate both in writing and orally in clear and understandable manner with co-workers, customers and West Star Aviation leadership
- Must be able to perform repairs effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations
- Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers
- Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and use technical manuals
