AV-8B Avionics Technician Description: Performs scheduled/unscheduled aircraft/essential flight line service maintenance actions as directed, to accomplish Flight schedule. The Aircraft Electronics Technician II shall be experienced in maintaining their assigned specific T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, and circuit breakers. switches, weapons release, and control checks, aircraft communications and navigation systems, and aircraft instruments. Also, the candidate shall be knowledgeable in automatic flight control stabilization systems, weapons integration systems, and fuel quantity systems. Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, and installs various types of electronic transmitting and receiving equipment. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.The Aircraft Electronics Technician II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine aircraft electrical and avionics system problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, selecting tools, and testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This Technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from a supervisor or higher-level Technician.The Aircraft Electronics Technician II shall have T/M required series preferred Naval Organizational aircraft experience specific to the platform hired and assigned to support.

Requirements: 

Qualifications: The candidate must have completed a Navy Class A school for Aviation Electricians or Aviation Electronics Technicians or USMC/USCG equivalent and a Navy Class C school in electrical or electronics repair for the position-specific T/M/S aircraft, or USMC/USCG equivalent. (Five years of organizational level experience on the applicable position-specific T/M/S aircraft may be substituted for the Class "C" school.) Must have a minimum of five years of USN/USMC/USCG Organizational level aircraft avionics maintenance experience by CNAFINST 4790.2 series guidelines. Must have a minimum of three years experience in Organizational-level avionics maintenance in similar T/M/S aircraft. Two of the three years of type/model experience within the last two years is preferred. Must be able to draw, load, and maintain physical security of all associated Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment for the position-specific T/M/S aircraft. Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible to qualify for and able to maintain a secret level clearance.Duties: The candidate for this task is required to maintain and service the applicable aircraft electrical and electronic systems/components as required in support of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 RDTE Programs by applicable publications and governing instructions. Hourly $44.33 USD
