CSI Aviation Receives Certification Available to Air Charter Companies
CSI Aviation, Inc., a New Mexico-based international air charter services and logistics company, announces it has been certified by the U.S. military’s Commercial Airlift Review Board (CARB) to operate on-demand passenger, cargo and air medical flights for the Department of Defense (DoD). CARB certification is among the highest safety standard certifications that can be achieved by an air carrier, and CSI is now one of only a few air carriers worldwide to have this certification.
In order to receive CARB certification, the DoD examines key areas of flight operations including quality control, operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance and safety methods. CSI’s certification means it can now transport military personnel on its own aircraft, as well as bid on a variety of DoD contract operations.
“It is a huge honor to be CARB certified,” says Thomas J. Dunn, senior VP, Flight Operations. “We know that very few Part 135 air carriers receive the opportunity to be inspected and pass this audit. We are very excited to begin helping the Department of Defense in every way we can.”
Executing operations for the U.S. military is a natural progression for CSI Aviation, which recently won a Freedom Award, the highest honor given to employers for their support of National Guard and Reserve employees by the Department of Defense.
“Nearly half of the CSI team has served in the U.S. Armed Forces,” says William “Rock” Collins, president/COO of CSI Aviation. “To now be able to utilize our organic fleet directly with the Department of Defense to transport military men and women is especially significant for us.”
