Dassault Falcon Jet, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, marks the opening of a major new maintenance facility at Melbourne Orlando International Airport (KMLB). This facility represents a significant expansion of Dassault’s presence in the Americas and reflects the company’s long-term commitment to customer support, operational excellence, and regional investment. It is one of the recent additions to Dassault Aviation’s global maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network.

The D.O.M. magazine team has had a busy two days with lots of conversations at our booth, plenty of press conferences and seminars, and walking the show floor looking for new products and services for aircraft maintenance professionals.

Aquiline Drones Becoming One of the Fastest-Growing, Full-Service Drone Companies in the USA

Barry Alexander successfully launches his entrepreneurial endeavor, Aquiline Drones (AD), one of the fastest-growing American drone companies. AD is privately held, owned and managed primarily by Alexander, along with other business professionals; fellow airline pilots; aerospace and software engineers; distinguished military personnel, including retired Air Force generals; algorithmic mathematicians and other technologists. AD is also supported by a network of thousands of pilots nationwide.

Tailwind Technologies acquires Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. and Aerospace Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI), both headed by president Tom Heid, who will continue in that capacity for Tailwind. Tailwind Technologies is the parent company of Hartzell Propeller, Inc.

After 20 years of service, Duncan Aviation's engine team continues to add new capabilities, tools and authorizations. The company expanded its turbine engine service business in 1999 with a newly remodeled 20,000-square-foot facility to accommodate its rapidly growing Honeywell TFE731 business.

Aspen Avionics announces new features and functions for the budget-friendly Evolution E5 EFI. When introduced in 2018, the E5 EFI combined an attitude indicator plus DG/CDI into a single display. After receiving feedback from operators and installers, Aspen responded with this new software release for those who prefer a more traditional HSI.

EME Aero, Engine Maintenance Europe service center, a 50/50 joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and MTU Aero Engines, completes the aviation authority certification process and obtains EASA 145 certification as a maintenance organization on Dec. 12, 2019. Site completion and the official opening of the company is planned for spring 2020.

Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems announces it will be providing expanded aircraft on ground (AOG) service for the most popular upcoming U.S. sporting events. Starting with the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 30 in Miami, Stevens will have teams of highly trained technical experts positioned on-site at area airports to support owner-operators traveling to these destinations.
