LBAS Receives EASA Part 145 Line Maintenance Approval for Bombardier Global 7500 Aircraft
Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) now offers services for Bombardier's newest and largest aircraft type, the Global 7500 — the industry's largest and longest-range aircraft. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services the approval to perform line maintenance services at its home base in Berlin Schoenefeld. Moreover, LBAS can offer AOG services at any location worldwide for the Global 7500 business jet.
WWII Heritage Days Ready for Biggest Year of Displays
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing is providing a variety of new experiences with historic aircraft, parachute jumping, an Army band, and a dome theatre when it hosts World War II Heritage Days, April 27-28, 2019, at Atlanta Regional Airport (Falcon Field) in Peachtree City. The weekend event will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion in Europe, including a rare display of three C-47 transport planes that actually participated in the invasion.
IBAC Participating in First ICAO Stocktaking Seminar
The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) continues its support of the wider use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) within the business-aviation sector by participating in the first ICAO Stocktaking Seminar toward the 2050 Vision for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFS2019). The seminar will take place April 30-May 1 in Montreal and will provide a forum for the exchange of information related to aviation fuels. It will be the first step toward the establishment of a quantified 2050 ICAO Vision for Sustainable Aviation Fuels.

AFI KLM E&M Partners with WestJet for GEnx Support
AFI KLM E&M and WestJet ink a letter of intent to sign a contract for maintenance and support for the GEnx engines equipping the Canadian carrier's fleet of 10 Boeing 787-9s. AFI KLM E&M will monitor WestJet's GEnx fleet using its PROGNOS for ENGINE data-analysis and predictive-maintenance system. This is the first major contract between the two groups.
NATA’s Highest Honor Awarded to Aviation Business Leader and Past Association President Martin H. Hiller
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) announces the recipient of its highest annual honor. The William A. “Bill” Ong Memorial Award is to be presented to NATA director emeritus and former president, Martin (Marty) H. Hiller. Hiller will be recognized June 18 during the Awards Presentation Luncheon held in conjunction with the NATA 2019 Annual Meeting and Aviation Business Conference.
