Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA) reopens an expanded Fort Lauderdale repair station focusing on maintenance, repair and overhaul of general-aviation accessories, principally magnetos and exhaust systems. After being shut down for several months for renovations, the Fort Lauderdale reopening features a larger facility and additional employees with revamped, modernized processes and the addition of welding services, primarily to accommodate aircraft engine exhaust system refurbishment.

LYTE Aviation, the world’s newest advanced air-mobility innovator addressing advanced urban mobility and connectivity, reveals its 40-seat (hybrid) eVTOL SkyBus and SkyTruck program. LYTE Aviation’s LA-44 design is powered by four conventional turbine engines running on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) complemented with four electric motors at the wingtips powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The SkyBus and complementary SkyTruck cargo variant, designed around a 4.5 tonne payload, is the accumulation of three years’ R&D. Italian brothers Luigi and Giovanni Pascale started their legacy in 1948 by gathering four non-working aircraft engines in a flea market full of post-war machines. They assembled a working engine for their first legendary aircraft, the P.48 Astore, which first flew in 1951.

FAA Issues SAIB for Hartzell and McCauley Propellers
On March 15, the FAA issued SAIB 2023-04. The SAIB alerts owners, operators, maintenance technicians and inspectors of an airworthinesss concern for Hartzell Propeller Inc. (Hartzell) and McCauley Propeller Systems (McCauley) propellers, specifically those returned to service by Trinity Specialized Services, LLC (Trinity) doing business as Specialized Propeller Services, LLC.
