The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces new and expanded responsibilities for two senior team members and thanks a third leader, who announced plans to step down from the association earlier this year. StandardAero’s engine overhaul center in San Antonio, TX, completes correlation of its first test cell for the CFM International LEAP-1A turbofan engine, thereby achieving another milestone in its introduction of LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. The San Antonio facility is now able to undertake LEAP-1A functional and performance engine-testing for Airbus A320neo family customers.

Duncan Aviation is named by the Nebraska Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) as the 2024 VFW Employer of the Year, an award that recognizes and honors a company that demonstrates exceptional commitment in hiring and retaining veterans. West Star Aviation announces the promotion of Lee Smieja to Gulfstream program manager at its Chattanooga, TN (CHA), facility. His responsibilities will include being involved in maintaining effective cost controls for budgets, monitoring manpower, managing schedules, and implementing any new procedures for the growing Gulfstream program.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announces its successful completion of ground emissions testing of 100% neat sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) containing zero sulfur on the all-new Gulfstream G700. Powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G700 ground emissions test was conducted to measure multiple fuel types, including a 30/70 SAF blend and neat SAF (a non-fossil-based aviation fuel). The preliminary results of these tests will inform the industry’s path in further reducing the overall climate impact of business aviation.

Thornton Aviation uses Dassault’s STC to integrate and install Universal Avionics InSight Integrated Flight Display system into a Falcon 900B. Dassault’s STC allows operators to upgrade to the four-display InSight system while maintaining the existing Honeywell flight management system (FMS).

Eve Air Mobility (Eve) (NYSE: EVEX; EVEXW) and Embraer-CAE Training Services (ECTS), a joint venture between Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B3: EMBR3) and CAE Inc. (CAE) (NYSE: CAE), announce that ECTS has been selected as the training provider for Eve’s electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft pilots, maintenance technicians and ground-handling personnel. The services will be part of the recently announced Eve TechCare, the company’s all-in-one service portfolio for eVTOLs.
