It’s time to let our voices be heard. We need to do our part to participate in the Federal Government’s rulemaking process. The FAA recently published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) titled Mechanic Certification: Inspection Rating and Recent Experience Requirements in the Federal Register. The proposed rule will affect FAA certified mechanics with Inspection Authorization.

Raisbeck Expands Dealer Network in Texas

Raisbeck Engineering, Inc. (“REI”) and Aerospace Instrument Support, Inc. (“AIS”) announce Aerospace Instrument Support has joined Raisbeck’s global network of authorized dealers. Located at the Denton Airport in Denton, TX, Aerospace Instrument Support specializes in providing aircraft maintenance and avionics installation/support as well as major aircraft modifications for business-class aircraft.

ALTO Aviation, an industry leader in cabin audio/entertainment systems, Cabin Management Systems (CMS), and Passenger Controls, and Rosen Aviation, designer and manufacturer of cabin electronic devices, officially announced a strategic retrofit market partnership at the 62nd edition of AEA International Convention & Trade Show in Palm Springs. 

Elliott Aviation announces Canadian certification on its STC for Honeywell’s dual NZ-2010 FMS 6.1 upgrade in the Hawker 800 facilitating WAAS/LPV approaches. The STC covers the latest NZ-2010 6.1 operating software, 03040. The certification covers all Hawker 800’s with Honeywell’s SPZ-8000 avionics suite. In addition, it has received EASA Certification for their ADS-B STC on Citation 560 Excel/XLS Honeywell equipped aircraft. This STC uses remote mount Garmin GTX-3000 smart transponders and replaces the current Honeywell transponders giving the aircraft both ADS-B out and ADS-B in.

Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. (AWI) has received FAA PMA authorization for manufacturing and shipping new high performance stainless steel exhaust stacks for many Bonanzas, Cessnas and most Navions. The new technology incorporated in the replacement stacks increases performance over the original OEM stacks by up to seven horsepower. The increase in power is consistent through all power settings by equalizing back pressure across all cylinders.

A new aircraft maintenance company, Jet Maintenance International (JMI), is to be established at London Oxford Airport from the start of May. Headed by principals Neil Plumb and Ed Griffith, the MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) and aircraft management business will be primarily focused on Textron (Cessna) Citation and Dassault Falcon aircraft product support with line, base and AOG capabilities.
