Spirit Aeronautics announces the addition of Honeywell Aerospace Engine and APU Service Center authorization to its long-established Honeywell Avionics Service Center status, which the company has maintained for over 25 years. The expansion, timed with Spirit Aeronautics’ 25th anniversary, reflects the company’s continued investment in advanced maintenance capabilities and OEM-level technical support for business-aviation operators.

The FAA will be holding a Safety Stand Down December 3-4. On these dates, the FAA will host a series of online safety seminars targeted at aircraft maintenance technicians and other repair station personnel. Up to four hours of AMT & IA credit is available each day on maintenance subjects. The following subjects will be covered:

ExxonMobil announces that Mobil JetTM Oil 387, a synthetic high performance capability (HPC) turbine engine oil, is now approved for use in Rolls-Royce’s popular Trent 700, Trent 800, RB211-524 (B, C, D, G, and H series), and RB211-535 (C and E4 series) engines. 

Duncan Aviation announces that Ed Reeve, III, has accepted the position of manager of Duncan Aviation’s St. Louis satellite avionics facility at the Chesterfield Airport, MO. In addition to growing the shop, Reeve plans to continue to provide customer support, install Wi-Fi, and install/upgrade avionics systems to comply with the ADS-B mandate prior to 2020.
