Suzanne Markle, president and CEO of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, is appointed as a member of a newly formed advisory board tasked with encouraging women’s involvement in the aviation industry. U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Elaine L. Chao, announced Markle’s appointment along with other board members to the new Women in Aviation Advisory Board (WIAAB). WIAAB’s mission is to assess education, training, mentorship opportunities, outreach and recruitment of women into the aviation industry.
Professional Aviation Announces New Distributorship for ALLProtect Product
Professional Aviation Associates, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announces it is now a distributor for ALLProtect, a protective covering product from Colorado-based SurfaceLiner+. ALLProtect provides temporary, padded and non-slip surface protection for floors, stairs, sidewalls, bulkheads, galleys, wing leading edges, cabin windows, cockpit windshields, painted surfaces and other aircraft surfaces. King Aerospace Growth Leads to Facility Expansion
King Aerospace has outgrown its four hangars’ 200,000 square feet of space at the 2,900-acre Ardmore Industrial Airpark, northeast of Ardmore, OK, and is finalizing plans to build a new hangar that will add 90,000 square feet, a 45 percent increase. The additional footage will accommodate multiple large aircraft and shop facilities that will support large aircraft interior projects. Construction could take a year to 15 months.
