Pentastar Aviation is issued Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) ST04188CH for certification of compatibility of wireless data technologies on Gulfstream Aerospace GIV-X (G350/G450) series aircraft. Award of this STC allows operators to approve the use of transmitting portable electronic devices (TPED) onboard aircraft with wireless networks or Wi-Fi hot spots for their passengers.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.’s G500 flight-test program continues to make significant progress toward the aircraft’s anticipated 2017 certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). West Star is now delegated to accept instructions for continued airworthiness (ICAs). As an FAA-designated ODA, West Star is authorized to perform as a representative of the FAA for issuing STCs to applicants that meet the criteria defined in the ODA procedures manual.
