West Star Aviation is seeing strong early benefits from its March acquisition of DC Jet as it continues to strengthen its AOG (aircraft on ground) capabilities ahead of the busy summer season. With calls into West Star Aviation’s dedicated AOG control center already increasing, the added technician headcount and expanded tooling resources gained through the acquisition are enhancing the company’s ability to respond to customer needs quickly and efficiently.

Hartzell Engine Technologies (HET) announces that, effective immediately, the company will make available to MROs complete kits that include all of the mandatory replacement parts to complete a field overhaul of an AeroForce turbocharger. The company will no longer sell individual piece parts for field overhauls.

CASA 212 with Hartzell 5-Blade Propellers

Airplane modifier Texas Turbine Conversions receives a supplemental type certificate (STC) from the FAA for Hartzell Propeller's high-performance five-blade structural-composite swept propellers for CASA 212 short-takeoff-and-landing utility aircraft.

Tailwind Technologies acquires Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. and Aerospace Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI), both headed by president Tom Heid, who will continue in that capacity for Tailwind. Tailwind Technologies is the parent company of Hartzell Propeller, Inc. and Hartzell Engine Technologies LLC.

Embraer expands Clay Lacy Aviation’s Service Center Authorization to include Legacy and Praetor business jets. The company’s FAA Part 145 Repair Station at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY) now provides factory-trained maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Embraer Legacy 450, 500, 600, 650 models; Praetor 500 and 600 jets; and Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft.
