SmartSky Networks, a provider of inflight air-to-ground (ATG) connectivity for business aviation, announces that it has been granted supplemental type certificate (STC) #ST04610CH from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for installation of its Flagship system on a Dassault Falcon 2000EX business jet. The work was done by hardware sales and installation partner West Star Aviation at its Grand Junction facility. Liberty Partners provided engineering support, commencing the project on Feb. 3.

Satcom Direct, a business-aviation solutions provider, is adding a highly automated carbon reporting tool to the SD Pro® operating system. The new reporting module leverages real-time data generated by SD’s FlightDeck Freedom® (FDF) datalink service, which accurately captures fuel-burn information. The system then calculates each flight’s carbon emissions based on the amount of fuel burned, fuel type and blend. This presents operators with validated emissions data for individual aircraft, an entire fleet over a specified period, or for a selected flight.
