It’s time to let our voices be heard. We need to do our part to participate in the Federal Government’s rulemaking process. The FAA recently published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) titled Mechanic Certification: Inspection Rating and Recent Experience Requirements in the Federal Register. The proposed rule will affect FAA certified mechanics with Inspection Authorization.

Progressive Air Group Continues Its Aggressive Expansion Program with the Acquisition of Brant Aero

Representatives of the Progressive Air Group and Brant Aero announce that Progressive Air Group has finalized its acquisition of Brantford, Ontario-based Brant Aero. Based at Brant Aero’s current location at Brantford Airport (CYFD) in Ontario, Canada, the new company will continue to operate as Brant Aero. In addition, the company has established a new parts distribution center based at the facility. That group will operate as Progressive Air East.

ExxonMobil announces that Mobil JetTM Oil 387, a synthetic high performance capability (HPC) turbine engine oil, is now approved for use in Rolls-Royce’s popular Trent 700, Trent 800, RB211-524 (B, C, D, G, and H series), and RB211-535 (C and E4 series) engines. 

Duncan Aviation announces that Ed Reeve, III, has accepted the position of manager of Duncan Aviation’s St. Louis satellite avionics facility at the Chesterfield Airport, MO. In addition to growing the shop, Reeve plans to continue to provide customer support, install Wi-Fi, and install/upgrade avionics systems to comply with the ADS-B mandate prior to 2020. 

West Star Aviation receives the 51,000 Five Award from Gogo Business Aviation, an honor awarded to the highest-performing dealers for 2015. The award is designed to recognize the industry's highest-performing organizations in the company's global dealer and distributor network, as chosen by Gogo Business Aviation's executive team. The award selection is based on dealers' exhibited commitment for helping customers enhance in-flight connectivity, as well as expert technicians.
