We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft Electrician (AE equivalent) specializing in MH-60R MH-60S Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) / O-Level Maintenance Squadron Support located at Rota Spain.
The Aircraft Electrician (AE equivalent) is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of aircraft electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, circuits, and related components. This role ensures aircraft systems are fully operational, safe, and compliant with technical directives and regulatory standards.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft electrical systems, circuits, and components.
  • Fabricate, modify, and install wiring harnesses, connectors, and cable assemblies according to technical data.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, including continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and functional system tests.
  • Remove and replace defective electrical components or assemblies.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support maintenance actions.
  • Document all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Make independent decisions and judgments regarding complex troubleshooting techniques, modification, and repair procedures
  • Performs final functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems, equipment, and wiring and cables to check continuity, resistance, amperage and insulation breakdown with standard and specialized tooling and equipment. On a daily basis, uses common hand and power tools and test equipment to facilitate rework operations.
  • Involved in disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems, equipment and accessories such as automatic flight control, fire detection, instrumentation, power distribution, fuel indicating systems and utilities used on rotary wing aircraft.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior personnel as needed.
Requirements: 

Minimum of 8 yearsrsquo; current or previous experience performing complex helicopter electrical work to include but not limited to:

  • Ability to correct discrepancies by removal, repair, or replacement of defective circuits, wires, connectors, control units, plugs, switches, circuit breakers, diodes, resistors, capacitors, relays and other parts of aircraft electrical systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory, principles, and circuitry; a thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and their interrelationships and a working knowledge of electronic principles.
  • Able to recognize actual circuit configuration on schematics and diagrams.
  • Must be able to trace signal paths through printed circuits and aircraft wiring in order to troubleshoot, modify, repair, overhaul, and maintain complex electrical systems on board aircraft such as antiskid, automatic flight control, and fuel indicating systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AC and DC power and a thorough understanding of aircraft electrical systems and their relationships with affected systems.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of blueprints, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical directives.
  • Skilled in removing, installing, connecting, aligning, adjusting and testing complex systems, and assemblies.
  • FAA Airframe Powerplant (A P) Certificate or military equivalent (AE rating) qualification.
  • Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., NALCOMIS, OOMA, ALIS, or equivalent).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of MH-60R/S systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of NAMP (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2) and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Pass a background check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card or ROTA Base Access ID.
  • Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, if required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders when necessary.
  • Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
  • Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
  • Position may require use and/or exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
  • Position is located near or in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
  • FIT for Duty Physical is required.
  • May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
