HQ Aero is currently recruiting for a QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER in BRIDGEPORT, WVResponsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with aviation regulations (e.g., FAA Part 145, EASA, AS9110C, ISO 9001)
  • Maintain communications, sending revisions or acknowledging receipt of revisions to and from the FAA
  • Updating all manuals RSQM, Training, Forms, EASA, AS9110 and SMS.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and manuals
  • Ensure that work accomplished outside the repair stations fixed location is done in accordance with the RSQM Manual
  • Respond to NAA and public requests for inspection of the repair station certificate
  • Monitor performance metrics and report regularly to senior leadership
  • Ensure proper documentation and control of quality-related manuals and procedures
  • Assist in determining equivalency of equipment, tooling, material and parts used by the repair station and document that determination
  • Ensure that any test equipment or tool used to make an airworthiness determination is appropriately labeled and within its calibration time limits and that the calibration procedure is properly followed
  • Ensure that the list of maintenance contractors and maintenance functions are current, provided to the FAA in accordance with the RSQM Manual and approved by the FAA
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure timely closure of findings
  • Prepare for and coordinate external audits by regulatory bodies and customers
  • Lead all investigations related to audit findings
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution efforts related to CARS, SCARS and DIVES
  • Author Standardized Work and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and drive process improvements by accessing the resident professionals in each department
  • Oversee the current training program and assess the effectiveness of training; identify areas for improvement, revise and update training materials
  • Ensure initial and recurrent training for all personnel, certificated and non-certificated, involved in the maintenance, preventive maintenance and/or alteration of civil aviation articles is adequate to establish compliance with applicable regulation as delineated in the Training Program Manual
  • Lead and provide ongoing training for a team of internal Quality Coordinators
  • Serve as the DER for the FAA Drug Alcohol Policy program
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the organization

Qualifications, Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Quality Management or related field (or equivalent experience )
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Quality Management experience in Aviation, Aerospace or MRO environment
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145, Part 21, EASA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9110/AS9100, ISO 9001 or similar QMS standards
  • Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations, the RSQM Manual and the Forms Manual used by the repair station
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Proven experience leading audits and interacting with regulatory authorities
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Must understand, read, write and speak fluent English

Preferred Skills:

  • Six Sigma, Lean, or ASQ Quality certifications

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance. Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, Position requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.
  • Work Environment : FAR Part 135 aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
