Quality Inspector / Technician - Part 145/135

Mayday Avionics holds FAA Radio Class 1, 2, 3 ratings, Instrument Class 3 for instrument repairs; along with Limited Airframe and Engine ratings to support aircraft maintenance functions.
Mayday Avionics currently has an opening for a Quality Inspector / Technician. This position will be directly responsible to the Chief Inspector for the performance of assigned quality control and quality assurance functions within the repair station.
The Quality Inspector is responsible for making quality control checks of in-process and completed aircraft maintenance or repairs, auditing and updating work orders and aircraft records, and updating aircraft compliance in the maintenance tracking system.
In addition, this position will assist with installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and other general tasks related to the maintenance, installations and repair of avionics systems and components on a variety of aircraft product models.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares printed log entries as needed. Assures the proper execution of FAA forms and/or maintenance releases as required.
- Ensures that files of all maintenance work performed by the Repair Station, including work order sheets, parts certifications (form 8130-3rsquo;s, Certificate of Conformities, etc.), inspection checklists and aircraft permanent records, are maintained in good order and in accordance with applicable FARs, and the company Quality Control Manual.
- Perform physical inspection of in-process and completed aircraft maintenance, installation, and/or repair work for airworthiness, compliance with FAA regulations, and conformity to manufacturersrsquo; documentation.
- Perform aircraft records audits for compliance with manufacturersrsquo; inspection and service life schedules. Perform AD research on incoming aircraft.
- Audit in-process work order squawk resolutions for compliance with FAA regulations and established company policies.
- Update the aircraft maintenance tracking system to reflect the status of all aircraft inspections, overhauls, service life limits, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and instructions for continued airworthiness.
- Assists in maintaining a current technical publication product library, reviews maintenance records of work performed, and ensures proper handling of all aircraft permanent records.
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector or Installation Manager.

- At least 5 years working experience as A P mechanic or Avionics Technician with a 145/135 operation.
- Minimum 1 year in an Inspector or Lead role participating in aircraft inspection and tracking of status with a 145/135 operation.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Assertive, possesses high energy, detail/goal oriented, and is self-motivated.
- Excellent computer skills with internet proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and other industry specific software.
- Knowledge and familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and practices, and equipment used in their area of responsibility.

Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses Document Requirements:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred
- FAA IA preferred
