RADIANT Announces Taxi Camera

RADIANT Technology announces it has developed a new taxi camera for taildragger aircraft which provides excellent vision of what the pilot often can’t see: that which is straight ahead.

The new taxi-camera kit includes a flush-mount camera and a high-resolution 7” LCD display that folds into a case. When in the air, a visual horizon and red crosshairs appear on the display that help point directly to an intended touch-down spot. Because of mounting considerations, this new product is for experimental use only.

James Wiebe, president and CEO of RADIANT Technology, says, “The taxi camera is a game-changer, providing improved visibility of what is ahead in the pilot’s blind spot. The additional capability the display provides while in flight helps improve awareness of whether the aircraft is level. Finally, the red crosshairs are a game-changer for lining up a touchdown spot.”

The display, designed to mount on the flat top of an aircraft control panel, is bright, clear, and as brilliant as the outdoor sky. The included camera is diminutive and may be adjusted to any mounting position using a set-screw. It requires a ½” hole, along with connection to the aircraft’s power. The output of the camera connects to the system’s LCD display via a single cable.

The part number for the new product is RI-2024-10, and the cost for the listed item, Taxi Camera System, is $399.95.
