The Receiving Inspector is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate certification of all incoming rotables and consumables within WestJet’s operation. This role plays a key part in maintaining airworthiness and inventory integrity by verifying that all parts meet company and regulatory standards before being released to stock. The Receiving Inspector will also inspect re-calibrated tools, apply calibration labels in accordance with the Maintenance Policy Manual, and ensure they are properly returned to inventory for operational use.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine the airworthiness directive and service bulletin status of incoming parts and record this information in the Computerized Maintenance Tracking System (CMTS);
  • Maintain precise and compliant recording of component time data for all inbound materials, and establish or reset system constraints within the CMTS as applicable to part condition and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all shelf-life–controlled items are accurately tracked to enable timely removal from inventory prior to expiry and prevent issuance for aircraft use after expiration.
  • Ensure the immediate segregation and quarantine of any material, component, or part suspected to be defective, damaged, or otherwise unfit for aircraft use, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and manage a designated quarantine area to ensure that uncertified, unapproved, or non-conforming parts are securely retained and prevented from being installed or utilized on any company aircraft.
  • Record teardown details on all repaired items received;
  • Liaise with Purchasing, Repair and Overhaul, and approved vendors to verify that all incoming items are accompanied by valid certifications and meet company and regulatory airworthiness standards.
  • Provide information for new part numbers in the CMTS as required and maintain records to support the PN Master as necessary;
  • Support the safe and efficient unloading of trucks, including oversized shipments, utilizing forklifts and other designated material-handling equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties and assignments.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and all incoming parts are recorded accurately and accounted for;
  • Strong management skills, and the ability to monitor items accordingly to ensure compliance;
  • Strong communications skills and collaborative approach to work efficiently with Purchasing, Repair and Overhaul, and various vendors to ensure company certification of all incoming items;
  • Ability to be situationally aware to prevent the use of uncertified material, parts, or components from being installed or used on company aircraft.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an aircraft stores/parts environment;
  • Minimum 2 years working with Computerized Maintenance Tracking Systems
  • Strong awareness of Canadian Aviation regulations;
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook);
