SmartSky and Jet East Announce Sales and Installation Agreement

SmartSky Networks, an air-to-ground (ATG) inflight connectivity provider, announces that Jet East, a Gama Aviation company, will begin offering sales and installation of SmartSky’s advanced shipsets at its maintenance facilities for business-aviation aircraft in Trenton, NJ; Dallas, TX; Fort Lauderdale, FL; and West Palm Beach, FL.

SmartSky’s patented network is on track for full CONUS coverage this quarter, and its hardware and services are in stock and available through a growing network of  installation partners and value-added resellers. Jet East’s factory-trained technicians will install SmartSky’s innovative connectivity equipment to support the growing demand for dependable, responsive and secure connectivity on business-aviation aircraft. Continued growth in the business-aviation sector and greater use of connected services for avionics, cabin WiFi, and aircraft-performance monitoring has pushed inflight connectivity to the top of list for installations and upgrades.

Aria Bahawdory, director of MRO Account Management for SmartSky Networks, says, “Our sales and installation partners provide a critical connection to our customers. Jet East shares our vision for challenging the status quo for inflight connectivity and delivering superior value for business aviation at a time when being connected has become a top priority — whether that be for improving the emissions of the aircraft or the quality of the experience in the cabin.”

Dwayne Chandler, senior director of Avionics Sales and Business Development for Jet East, notes, “Business aviation continues to experience a period of growth, and we are seeing an increased demand for both regular maintenance and upgrades to legacy aircraft to keep them flying longer.  As a leading service center, we are focused on providing our customers with the best possible solutions to support their needs. SmartSky makes a great addition to our portfolio.”
